As the daughter of an amateur photographer, I was raised with a camera in my hand. This taught me to look at the world with a slightly different perspective. In college, I dabbled further in photography, learning to add formal structure and techniques to my hobby. In 1997, as digital media became the staple, I converted and I am rarely seen without my camera today.

Before launching Kara Rountree Photography, my photography was action or travel focused. However, through the encouragement of others I pursued my dream and Kara Rountree Photography was born.

As former actress and model in the Sacramento area I understands how to bring out expression and emotion that my client's are looking for from the models and actors on the set I specializes in commercial print and fashion layout. I enjoy working with models and actors shooting their portfolios and headshots. However, my passion is boudoir portraiture. I strive through photography to help women of all ages, shapes and sizes build self-confidence and view themselves as beautiful in their own skin.

I am married and have a beautiful son. As a family, we love to travel and photograph interesting people and places all over the world. We have been able to see almost every state in the US, including Alaska and Hawaii and have also traveled abroad, seeing places like Spain, Greece, Italy, France, Ireland, Canada, Mexico, and the Caribbean.
